Using Motiontill LiveView: Quick Guide
Works with Multiple Adobe Apps:
The extension works the same in After Effects,
Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop, so you can follow these steps for any of them.
1. Install Motiontill LiveView
Follow our “How to Install ZXP Files” guide to
install the extension.
2. Open the Extension
In your Adobe app, go to Window > Extensions >
Motiontill LiveView
to open it.
3. Adjust the Panel
Resize and move the panel to fit your workspace.
Importing and Managing Items
- Add Items: Use the “+” button or right-click to import files like images, videos, and scripts into your project.
- Supported Files: Import PNG, JPG, MP4, MOV, project files, templates, and scripts (JSX).
Organizing and Previewing Assets
- Rename Items: Right-click an item, select "Rename," and type the new name. This only changes the name within the extension.
- Set Previews: Right-click to add image or video previews for your items. For best performance, use 255 x 144 px images.
- Important: If you move or rename files after setting previews, they may no longer work.
Using Icons for Quick Access
- Star Icon: Bookmark favorite items for easy access.
- Type Icon: Shows the type of file (image, video, script).
- Info Icon: Add extra details, links, or instructions to items.
Backing Up Data
- Your data is saved at
Documents\Motiontill LiveView\AEFT.js
. Keep a backup to avoid losing data.
Exporting and Organizing Items
- Move Items: Drag and drop to organize or cut and paste them into folders.
- Create a Package: Place items in a main folder, add previews if needed, then right-click and select “Export.”
- Customize Export: Add a package icon, author name, and link, then click “Export Files” to finalize.
Collecting Projects for Export (After Effects & Premiere Pro)
- Collect Files: Use
File > Project Manager
in Premiere Pro orFile > Dependencies > Collect Files
in After Effects. - Copy Footage: Move collected assets into
Live View Friendly\Assets\(Footage)
to prevent missing file errors when others open your projects.
It will also generate an HTML catalog that displays all your items, along with their file locations, images, and previews if you have set them up.
